From Belgrade, Serbia is distribution and sales of the building materials and construction steel products for high and low constructions in accordance with HVAC. Our company is the supplier for major construction projects in Serbia, Balkan region and European Union. Types of our customers are industry, building/construction sector and production sector. Our 3 main advantages are:
Our quality policy is communicated to all employees and stakeholders. It serves as the foundation for our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and is reviewed annually to ensure its relevance to the Serbian economic environment.
OUR HISTORY

Our company was opened as “Sonex Metal and Chemical industries S.A.” in Athens, Greece in 1994. The main activity, like still Today, was distribution and sales of steel and metal products to the countries within European Union. In 2002. our company has moved all of it’s business to Belgrade,Serbia to a then newly opened company Sonex Metal and Chemical Industries d.o.o. (S.M & C.I. d.o.o.).In 2003. our company purchases 1000 sq.m warehouse and in 2020. we have purchased and moved to a new modern warehouse, cutting, packing and logistics center measuring 11.000 sqm.Our company has constantly added different materials necessary for building/construction, industry and production sector, like concrete blocks, corrugated sheets etc., so we can proudly say that we are in a position to fully satisfy their needs. S.M. &C.I. d.o.o. is proud to be one of the leading metal and building/construction material supplier in Serbia and region.

ACTIVITY

MAIN MARKETS

Our main markets are Serbia, Balkan region, European Union.
As a steel and building materials supplier, our company serves as a critical link in the industrial supply chain, operating through high-volume,long time relationship-driven transactions that fuel the construction sector. Our B2B model focuses on providing structural contractors and engineering firms with the raw materials—such as reinforcing bars, reinforcing meshes, concrete blocks, steel, copper and aluminum tubes, profiles and sheets etc.—necessary to execute large-scale infrastructure projects. Our value proposition lies in logistical reliability, bulk pricing advantages, and the ability to meet strict technical specifications, ensuring that our partners have the inventory they need to maintain project timelines and structural integrity.
WAY OF DOING BUSINESS

Our reinforcing steel bars are supplied in diameters from 6mm to 50mm in 6 meters length, and are produced in accordance with B500B standard. We can supply the material according to other standard on request. Every material is supplied with the mill test certificate of quality. They comply with EN 10080 standard. We pack them in 2 tons bundles.

The primary role of the alloying elements in B500 steel is as follows:
Welded wire mesh is made by welding steel wires at intersections to form a grid pattern. This type of mesh is commonly used in concrete slabs, walls, and pavements due to its uniformity and strength. It is available in various sizes and gauges, allowing for flexibility in different construction projects.

Ribbed mesh, also known as deformed mesh, features ribs or deformations on the surface of the wires. These deformations improve the bonding between the mesh and the concrete, providing enhanced tensile strength and load-bearing capacity. Ribbed mesh is widely used in reinforced concrete slabs, beams, and columns.
Rectangular mesh is similar to square mesh but with rectangular openings. It is typically used in applications where different load distribution is required, such as in walls and beams. The rectangular pattern provides flexibility in reinforcing concrete elements with varying dimensions.

Tool steel combines selected alloy steel and carbon steel grades, and its high hardness and abrasion resistance characteristics make it ideal for cutting and machining various types of metals. Major alloying elements in tool steel are chromium, molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten. These carbide formers allow tool steel to resist deformation and maintain a sharp cutting edge at high temperatures.

BENEFITS OF TOOL STEEL

We are supplying the sheets/plates in thickness from 0,4 up to 30mm, according to the standards EN 1.4016 (AISI 430), EN 1.4301 (AISI 304) and EN 1.4404 (AISI 316L). The standard sheet sizes are 1000x2000mm, 1250x2500mm and 1500x3000mm. Upon request we can supply the non-standard sheet sizes like 1250x3000mm, 1500x6000mm, 1250x6000mm, 2000x4000mm, 2000x6000mm or cut to the measure sizes or the sheet in a coil. When supplied in a bundle, the sheets are delivered on a wooden pallet of approx. 2 tons.

Structural applications

A sturdy foundation is the key to any building project, and concrete blocks provide just that. They are made from a mixture of cement, water, sand, and gravel and are formed in a mold. Once cured, they are extremely strong and durable. Every material is supplied with the producer's certificate of quality confirming compliance with the technical, mechanical and chemical requirements.
Key properties of our concrete blocks:
Extremely strong and resistant to impact, moisture, and weathering
Supplied with producer's certificate confirming compliance with technical, mechanical and chemical requirements
Made from a precise mixture of cement, water, sand, and gravel, formed in a mold for consistency
Fully cured blocks ensure maximum load-bearing capacity for any building project
Ideal for load-bearing foundations in residential and commercial buildings
Used for structural retaining walls and boundary fencing
Suitable for garden walls, raised beds, and outdoor features
Widely used in warehouses, factories, and large-scale infrastructure
It is possible to cut the material as per requirement of the specific customer. The cutting is performed on a hydraulic scissors and is charged per cut.
